DORIS is carrying out on behalf of Ponticelli the detailed engineering of the FPSO package for the Zinia Phase 2 project of Total E&P Angola.
This involves detailed engineering of the modifications of the Pazflor FPSO topsides (Angola, block 17) to allow the connection of several new wells to the FPSO.
Zinia Phase 2 is a project that DORIS is well acquainted with, having performed conceptual and basic engineering studies, and more recently cost optimization studies, for Total.
The detailed engineering counts many challenges related to the brownfield aspect of the project, to the very tight schedule and to the fact that most of the offshore works will have to be carried out without impacting the FPSO production operations – a significant constraint as 1400 meters of piping will have to be installed on the FPSO deck.
To meet these challenges, DORIS and Ponticelli are working as an integrated team and will do so throughout the project to ensure a permanent link between engineering and construction/installation.
Zinia Phase 2 will add to DORIS’ experience in West Africa, which is already very significant as DORIS has been involved on almost all FPSO projects in this region. It will also add to DORIS’ fast-growing experience in brownfield projects involving modifications to existing facilities.
